Exercises to avoid: the upright row

It's been a while since I wrote about the Russian twist The first of a series of exercises to avoid that will help reduce the risk of injury and discomfort in the short, medium and long term.

The upright row part of these exercises. Yet it is also a very popular exercise, popularity from the world of bodybuilding. The upright row target the upper back muscles, especially the upper trapezius and deltoids. In return, its execution may cause or aggravate impingement syndrome ( impingement syndrome), which results from inflammation of the tendon of the supraspinatus muscle where it occupies the space under the acromion between the head of the humerus, is shrinking. The friction between the tendon and the acromion causing this inflammation. This condition can cause pain, loss of mobility and weakness in movement in the shoulder. However, in order to identify the impingement syndrome, doctors use a test that is in fact nothing but a upright row.

It is strongly recommended to eliminate the exercise of your workout program. Other exercises such as shrug, the military press and deadlift, as well as hang high pull can stimulate those muscles. Your shoulders will thank you.
